Iraqi Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmed al-Sahhaf told the local INA news agency that Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov is expected to visit the country on February 5 in the evening.

"Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will visit Baghdad tonight (February 5 - approx. Gazeta.Ru)", Al-Sahhaf told INA.

Al-Sahhaf later confirmed this information to RIA Novosti and added that a high-ranking delegation would also arrive, including representatives of the largest oil and gas investment companies.

According to a representative of the Iraqi Foreign Ministry, the meeting between Lavrov and his colleague Fuad Hussein will discuss issues of security and stability in the region.
