German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said that Russian President Vladimir Putin "did not threaten either him or Germany" during telephone conversations. He said this in an interview with Bild newspaper.

During the interview, the German chancellor was asked if he had been threatened by the Russian president over the phone. This question was asked in connection with an earlier statement by former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who claims that Putin personally threatened him over the phone.

“No, Putin did not threaten me or Germany,” Scholz said.

According to the German chancellor, in their telephone conversations with the Russian president, "very different points of view" on the Ukrainian conflict "become very clear."

Speaking about the supply of tanks to Ukraine, Scholz stressed that this decision was made together with the allies. “We carefully weighed each batch of weapons, closely coordinating it with our allies, primarily with America. This joint approach prevents the conflict from escalating,” he added.

Earlier, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov called the allegations of Johnson about threats from Putin a lie.
