President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said in a video message posted on his Telegram channel that Kyiv, together with its partners, is working on legal aspects for the implementation of sanctions against the Russian Federation, which were proposed by the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC).

“Tomorrow, another legal step will be taken to implement the sanctions decisions of the National Security and Defense Council. And we are working to synchronize our sanctions decisions with partner jurisdictions. Enemies of the free world have no right to use the free world for their own interests,” the head of state said.

He also pointed out that “cleansing” from people “who are on the side of Russia” continues inside Ukraine. According to the politician, there is an idea from the SBU in relation to persons who have Russian citizenship.

Earlier, Zelensky signed a decree imposing sanctions against 185 legal entities and individuals assisting Russia in the rail transportation of military equipment and military personnel.

Prior to this, the Ukrainian president put into effect the decision of the National Security and Defense Council on sanctions against 198 figures, including journalists, cultural figures and bloggers.
