In Germany, they began to doubt the implementation of the plan for the supply of tanks to Ukraine due to the lack of obligations for similar supplies from European partners, writes Der Spiegel.

The publication reports that doubts arose in the department of the Federal Chancellor and the Ministry of Defense. In government circles, the supply of tanks was even called "difficult" after a video conference with the participation of Minister of Defense Boris Pistorius, no European country dared to take on specific obligations in the supply of modernized Leopard 2 A6 tanks, although the German leadership had previously discussed the idea of creating two battalions with some partners.

To implement the planned supplies, the German authorities launched a “diplomatic offensive”. According to Der Spiegel, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz managed to convince three heads of governments from northern and southern Europe to take on the corresponding obligations during telephone conversations.

Earlier, Norwegian Defense Minister Bjorn Arild Gram said that deliveries of Leopard 2 tanks from Norway to Ukraine could take place at the end of March.
