The head of the Turkish Foreign Ministry, Mevlut Cavusoglu, said that terrorist organizations interfere with Sweden's accession to NATO. It is reported by TASS.

“Terrorist organizations are laying mines, especially on Sweden's path to NATO membership. Sweden specifically steps on these mines. She can clean them if she wants to,” Cavusoglu says.

He stressed that the Turkish side cannot reward those who do not fulfill the agreements. Ankara will be ready to discuss the issue of Sweden's accession to NATO only after the fulfillment of the obligations assumed by Stockholm, Cavusoglu added.

Earlier, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that Turkey negatively looks at the possibility of Sweden joining NATO.

He added that Turkey, at the same time, has a positive attitude towards Finland's desire to become a member of the North Atlantic Alliance.

Turkey again opposed Sweden's entry into NATO after right-wing activists burned the holy Koran for Muslims in front of the Turkish embassy.
