Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova called the West's calls for peace at the Kyiv summit hypocritical. The corresponding statement was published on the official website of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

On February 3, the EU-Ukraine summit was held in Kyiv with the participation of the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, and the head of the European Council, Charles Michel.

“Esov’s calls for peace are no less hypocritical when they declare their readiness to invest in the continuation of hostilities “for as long as it takes,” Zakharova said.

She recalled that Ukraine has already been given €12 billion collected through taxes from the population.

The diplomat stressed that the increase in funding for the Ukrainian conflict, the continued supply of weapons and equipment, the expansion of training camps and training programs for the Ukrainian military - all this leads to an increase in the number of victims of the conflict, including among civilians.

Earlier it was reported that Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev accused the US authorities of unwillingness to end the conflict in Ukraine.
