Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said the recent EU-Ukraine summit showed the EU's readiness to "recklessly support the neo-Nazi regime in Kyiv" in order to weaken Russia and "serve the hegemonic aspirations of the US and NATO." The corresponding statement was published on the website of the Russian foreign diplomatic department.

According to the diplomat, the summit demonstrated how the EU crosses out its own principles, on which it was once built. Thus, the community promises Ukraine European integration, but at the same time, “it solidifies with the total suppression of dissent, the violation of freedom of speech and expression, the gross violation of linguistic and confessional rights” in this country, Zakharova notes. Equally hypocritical are the calls of the members of the alliance for peace in conditions when they themselves declare their readiness to invest in the continuation of hostilities "for as long as it takes."

The representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that Western efforts to deploy in Ukraine a "front against the establishment of a multipolar world order" are in vain.

“All participants of the Kyiv meeting on February 3 will be severely disappointed. They will also have to answer to their own population, at whose expense the bloody geopolitical game started by the West “until the last Ukrainian is financed,” she stressed, adding that the goals and objectives of the special military operation will be fully achieved.

The central theme of the summit held in Kyiv was Ukraine's accession to the EU. According to the head of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, the country's accession to the European Union will depend on how successful its preparation for this step will be.
