France continues to issue visas to Russian citizens

French Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Anne-Clair Legendre said that the French authorities continue to issue visas to Russian citizens. She announced this in an interview with RTVI.

She added that Russian students are not being expelled from France either. She noted that it is important for France to maintain a dialogue with Russian civil society.

Earlier, the Swedish Embassy in Russia announced the resumption of accepting applications for visas.

State Department spokesman Ned Price said earlier that the new United States ambassador to Moscow, Lynn Tracy, would work with Russian authorities on the possibility of reopening visas. The diplomat noted that such an outcome would be in the interests of both countries.

Prior to this, the Italian visa center in Russia resumed accepting non-biometric international passports of the old sample valid for five years from citizens of the Russian Federation.

In November 2022, the Indonesian Ministry of Justice and Human Rights launched an e-Visa on Arrival (e-VoA) service for tourists, which will be available to passport holders from 46 countries, including Russia.
