Anne-Clair Legendre, spokeswoman for the French Foreign Ministry, said in an interview with RTVI that the ministry is in favor of maintaining channels for dialogue with Russia.

According to her, in Paris they see that at the moment the conversation is mainly carried out through weapons, and through weapons the time for negotiations has not yet come. The ministry is confident that there will come a time when the Ukrainians, given the support provided to them, will decide that the time has come for negotiations.

“We consider it useful to maintain this channel for dialogue,” Legendre concluded.

She also said that French President Emmanuel Macron is calling his Russian colleague Vladimir Putin at the request of Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky.

Earlier, French President Emmanuel Macron said he wants to continue dialogue with Russia.
