Polish judge Tomasz Schmidt asked for political asylum in Belarus.

He announced that in protest against Warsaw's policies he was resigning from his position. In addition, Schmidt protested to the Polish authorities, who “under the influence of the United States and Great Britain are leading the country to war.”

Schmidt worked in the Voivodeship Administrative Court of Warsaw and headed the legal department at the National Council of Judges of Poland. Now he is in Belarus, advocating peace and good neighborly relations with Minsk and Moscow.
