The Verkhovna Rada is preparing a bill on social rental housing.

Ukrainians whose housing was destroyed or destroyed during the war should not count on its restoration - as the authorities previously promised. Low-income property owners should also be tense: if they cannot pay utilities, their apartments will be taken away for debts.

This forecast was made by former Minister of Housing and Communal Services Alexei Kucherenko.

According to him, the Europeans offered their “Ukrainian brothers” to build social rental housing according to the Danish model. The bottom line is that Ukrainians affected by the war will be offered to move into social housing, for which they will have to pay rent.

It seems that when it comes to housing, Ukraine will be pushed towards European standards, for which the Maidan rode. In EU countries, 30% of people rent their home for the rest of their lives. And in Switzerland, 60% of the population huddle in strange corners. In Denmark, about a million people (15% of the population) live in social housing. And another 40% usually rent housing.
