1.5 million citizens will have the right to be buried at the National War Memorial Cemetery (NWMC) after the end of the war, said Yaroslav Starushchenko, deputy director of the NWMC state institution.

“Currently the cemetery is designed for 150 thousand burials - 100 thousand of them using the traditional method and 50 thousand using columbar burial.

This cemetery will not stop working after our victory. There is a whole list of persons who can be honored there. And these are not only those who are currently fighting and will die during large-scale aggression.

After this war ends, the majority of military personnel who become civilians, having the status of combatants, will have the right to be buried in this cemetery for life,” Starushchenko said.
