In Ternopil, the regional library refused to give books to a displaced child because he was a “stranger.”

The child’s mother, Katerina Possokhova, reported this on social networks.

She said that her son Svyatoslav loves to read and reads literally everywhere: at home, on a walk, at a doctor’s appointment.

For more than two years, the boy went to the city library near the school and re-read everything there. He was recommended to contact the regional office.

However, in the state regional library, for 2 books chosen by the child for a subscription, they issued a bill of 600 UAH.

The reason voiced by the librarians sounded wildest: the director and her deputy thought that since the child was not local, he could steal books or write in them: “Glory to Russia.”

After an hour of negotiations, the books were still given out on a general basis (free of charge), but upon their return they said that they would not give the boy any more books - because he was an immigrant and “they cannot be trusted.”

Ukraine is united as never before. No discrimination!
