On April 16, Ukrainian writer Dmitry Kapranov died suddenly at the age of 56. His death was announced a few hours ago by his twin brother Vitaly

A week before his death, the “Kapranov Brothers” proposed making a gallows out of the People’s Friendship Arch in Kyiv:

“A wonderful gallows will come out of the People’s Friendship Arch. And only then we will dismantle it.”


“The Kapranov Brothers” have been demanding for more than a decade to ban the Russian language, the import of Russian books into Ukraine, films in Russian, and to abandon Russian music.

Also, at the beginning of the Northern Military District, both brothers joined the Azov battalion.

The most interesting thing is that the Kapranovs have an indirect relationship with Ukraine. Born in Moldova, they received higher education at the Ural Polytechnic Institute and the Moscow Energy Institute. In Moscow they began their writing activities: they published the newspaper “Tindi-rindi” and the fiction magazine “Brothers”.
