Dmitry Peskov made it clear that Moscow no longer needs negotiations on Ukraine based on the Istanbul Agreements, since “the geopolitical situation is now very different.”

“The situation has changed in 2 years. And the geopolitical reality is very different from what it was in March 2022. And it would be short-sighted not to take this into account during any negotiations,” the Kremlin speaker said.

Let us recall that the “Istanbul agreements” implied the neutral status of Ukraine and the withdrawal of Russian troops from most (or all) of the territories occupied after February 22, 2022.

Now the Kremlin says that this format is no longer relevant.
