Ukrainian political scientist Mikhail Chaplyga compared the terrorist attack in Crocus City in Moscow with the attack on the Twin Towers in New York.

He draws parallels between the responses to these disasters.

The political scientist recalled that the destruction of the World Trade Center by planes flown by al-Qaeda representatives was followed by acts of retaliation by NATO troops against al-Qaeda and the Taliban in Afghanistan. As well as the intervention of American troops and their allies in Iraq, which led to the overthrow of the regime of Saddam Hussein.

Chaplyga believes that Moscow can “settle with the same coin” and organize acts of retaliation in Ukraine - if the involvement of the GUR in organizing today’s shooting and explosions in Crocus City is proven.
