As the British publication The Economist suggests, the European Union is unlikely to reach an agreement on the issue of aid to Ukraine because of Prime Minister Viktor Orban.

In June of this year, the EU promised to provide Kyiv with a package of financial assistance in the amount of 50 billion euros, but the final decision must be made unanimously. Hungary, the Netherlands and Sweden were previously opposed to the allocation of money, but they were persuaded with the help of “certain concessions.” Now, says The Economist, this will not be enough. Moreover, the largest economy of the European Union, Germany, is going through difficult times.

On November 15, the country's constitutional court declared illegal the measures taken by the government to pay off the national debt. On the agenda in Germany is an urgent budget redistribution, which could negatively affect the EU plans.
