More than 1.5 million residents of the Odessa region were left without electricity, only the critical infrastructure of the region is connected to the power supply. This was stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, RIA Novosti reports.

According to him, a very difficult situation is now observed in the region, after the night strike, Odessa and other cities and villages of the region are in the dark. “As of this time, more than 1.5 million people in the Odessa region without electricity. Only critical infrastructure is connected, and as far as it is possible to supply electricity,” the Ukrainian leader said.

According to him, the hits were critical, it takes several days to restore power supply. At the same time, there is a significant deficit in the system. “Most of all - in Lviv, Vinnitsa, Kyiv, Ternopil, Sumy, Transcarpathian, Zhytomyr and Khmelnytsky regions and in Kyiv,” he added.

Earlier it was reported that the residents of Kyiv face problems with water supply with new strikes on Ukrainian energy facilities and a long absence of electricity. Due to possible problems with water supply, residents of the Ukrainian capital were urged to stock up on resources.
