The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) reported on the completion of "counterintelligence activities" in the churches of the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) of the Moscow Patriarchate in the Kharkiv region. This was announced on Saturday, December 10, by the Politika Strana Telegram channel.

On the territory of the diocese, Ukrainian security forces found “libraries with pro-Kremlin literature praising the aggressor country,” as well as cash in various currencies, including Russian rubles.

“In one of the churches [were found] dry rations of Russian occupational groups,” the SBU reported, adding that in addition, there was one person with a Russian passport among the monks.

It is noted that all seized materials were sent for examination for further legal proceedings.

The fact that the SBU began searches in the churches of the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church in the Kharkiv region was reported earlier on December 10. Among them are 11 churches, two cathedrals and the Holy Intercession Monastery. The statement of the department stated that the inspection of the territory and premises was carried out with the direct participation of representatives of the church.
