Ukraine's Vice Prime Minister Oleksandr Kubrakov told CNN about significant damage to about half of the country's energy infrastructure.

According to Kubrakov, sandbags are used to protect critical facilities. He referred to a statement by state-owned electricity supplier Ukrenergo that the situation remains difficult but manageable. At the same time, the company admitted that all thermal and hydroelectric power plants were partially damaged.

“There will be no significant improvements in the restoration of electricity supply throughout the country over the weekend,” Ukrenergo commented.

Earlier, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal instructed to develop priorities for supplying electricity to infrastructure facilities and consumers. The prime minister stressed that it is necessary to determine the four priority groups, after connecting which, electricity can be supplied to other facilities.
