Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal instructed to develop priorities for supplying electricity to infrastructure facilities and consumers. His words are quoted by RIA Novosti.

“The state and the government systematize the process regarding who receives electricity. I instructed the Minister of Energy to develop and submit to the government clear priorities for turning on the electricity supply,” he said.

The prime minister stressed that it is necessary to determine the four priority groups, after connecting which, electricity can be supplied to other facilities. According to Shmyhal, the priority is critical infrastructure, then the military-industrial complex, then business that produces important products, and then the housing sector. He called this approach, which will help to survive the winter period, fair.

In addition, the politician noted that all thermal power plants (TPPs) and hydroelectric power plants (HPPs), as well as 40 percent of high-voltage network facilities, were damaged in Ukraine. For this reason, in most regions of the country there are significant restrictions on the supply of electricity, the prime minister added.

Earlier, the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine reported damage to about half of the entire critical infrastructure of the republic. It is specified that “large sandbags” are used in the country to protect objects that have survived from missiles.
