The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Latvia, Kristaps Eklons, has blacklisted the dismissed host of the Dozhd TV channel (included in the register of foreign media agents) Alexei Korostelev. It is reported by Delfi.lv.

Since the presenter was from Georgia and he does not have a Latvian visa or residence permit, the Latvian authorities cannot hold him accountable for his words about helping Russian servicemen in the special operation zone, which, as he claimed, some employees of Dozhd were engaged in. They decided to ban Korostelev from entering the country.

The former Dozhd employee has the right to appeal this decision to the administrative district court.

In Latvia, an investigation began because of Korostelev's statement about helping the Russian military in the special operation zone in Ukraine. The state security service of the republic declared the inadmissibility of providing any assistance to the Russian army, adding that these actions can be classified in accordance with the criminal article. The TV channel stopped working with Korostelev after his words.

On December 8, it became known that Estonia, following Lithuania and Latvia, had stopped broadcasting the Dozhd TV channel since December 8. On December 6, the National Electronic Media Council of Latvia decided to revoke the broadcasting license of Dozhd. The chairman of the council, Ivars Āboliņš, cited "a threat to the country's national security" as the reason.
