The Minister of the Interior of the Czech Republic presiding over the EU, Vit Rakusan, said at a meeting of the EU Council on Internal Affairs that the EU countries need to prepare for a new wave of refugees from Ukraine. It is reported by RIA Novosti.

“We must be prepared for a possible next wave of refugees from Ukraine due to the winter and the destroyed infrastructure in this country,” he said.

Earlier, Estonian Prime Minister Kaya Kallas said that her country would not be able to fully accept a new wave of Ukrainian refugees.

The Estonian prime minister also noted that the country is sending assistance to Ukraine to help residents restore the energy infrastructure and create opportunities for life there.

Kallas stressed that until now Estonia has been "generous", and she is proud of the citizens of the country who helped the Ukrainians.

Prior to this, the authorities of the German federal state of Baden-Württemberg, which has already received a larger number of Ukrainian refugees, asked the German leadership to urgently advocate for a fair distribution of newly arrived people among the EU countries.
