Georgia will not provide any assistance to Ukraine in an armed confrontation with Russia because of the risk of being drawn into hostilities. This was stated by the secretary of the ruling Georgian Dream party Mamuka Mdinaradze, Sputnik Georgia writes.

He noted that Tbilisi does not want to become a party to the conflict, and stressed that this will automatically happen if the country's authorities decide to send military assistance to Kyiv.

“It will be very difficult for Georgia to bear the risk of war,” Mdinaradze explained.

Earlier in December, Mdinaradze assured that the republic would not help Ukraine with weapons, but would continue to provide political and humanitarian assistance.

At the end of November, the general secretary of the Georgian Dream, Kakha Kaladze, said that Georgia would be the only affected party from the imposition of anti-Russian sanctions, so Tbilisi would not join them.
