Sergei Ryabkov, deputy head of the Russian Foreign Ministry, said that Washington's actions are aimed at preventing the return of negotiations between Kyiv and Moscow. The diplomat announced this on the air of the Russia-24 channel.

“The alarming statements [from Washington] are, in fact, encouraging the Kyiv regime to escalate while relying on help from the United States and other NATO countries,” Ryabkov stressed.

According to him, "this is actually a call to completely cross out any prospects."

Thus, the American side wants to ensure that there is no prospect of dialogue in the format of negotiations with the participation of Ukraine and the Russian Federation.

“The gluttony of the US military-industrial complex has no limits,” Ryabkov noted.

On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that he had decided to conduct a military special operation in Ukraine in response to a request for help from the heads of the LPR and DPR.

The decision to conduct the operation was the reason for new sanctions against Russia by the United States and its allies.
