Sergey Novikov, head of the Russian President’s Department for Public Projects, believes that 2022 will go down in history as the year of the start of Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine, and not as the year of the cultural heritage of the Russian peoples, as it was announced in December last year. He stated this during a speech at the Public Chamber of the country, TASS reports.

“We did not start the war, we started the NWO in order to end the war that was started in 2014,” Novikov stressed.

At the same time, he added that few people were ready for the fact that everything would turn out this way. According to Novikov, the way many members of the OP showed themselves is "inspiring" because they "responded to these events with a personal example, personal participation."

The official added that the sanctions that Western countries have imposed on members of the Russian Public Chamber should be taken as recognition of merit.

On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that he had decided to conduct a military special operation in Ukraine in response to a request for help from the heads of the LPR and DPR.

The decision to conduct the operation was the reason for new sanctions against Russia by the United States and its allies.
