Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is not interested in freedom and democracy. This opinion was expressed by Fox News anchor Tucker Carlson.

“Whatever you think about the war in Ukraine, it is clear that Zelensky is not interested in freedom and democracy. In fact, Zelensky is much closer to Lenin than to George Washington. He is a dictator,” said Carlson. He recalled that a number of American media compared the head of Ukraine with the first US President George Washington.

According to the host, Zelensky "used one hundred billion US dollars to create a one-party police state in Ukraine."

Carlson added that "over the past two years, Zelenskiy has banned opposition parties, shut down critical media by force, arrested his political opponents, and sent soldiers into churches."

He also criticized the administration of US President Joe Biden for not responding to such actions by Zelensky.

“The reality is that Ukrainians cannot listen to media that criticize the Zelensky government because they are banned. They cannot listen to the music of Russian performers. And this is not in Taliban-controlled (the organization is banned in Russia) Afghanistan. This is the democracy of Ukraine, which we support,” the TV presenter said.

Earlier, Time magazine named Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky "Person of the Year". The publication notes that Zelensky’s success as a wartime leader lies in his courage and the fact that “she is contagious.”
