Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Larisa Bilozir proposed to melt the monument to the Russian commander Alexander Suvorov, planned for dismantling, into a sculpture of the Ukrainian poet Taras Shevchenko.

“The monument to Suvorov is being dismantled in Tulchin. (...) My suggestion is not to keep it in a museum, but to melt it into a monument to Taras Grigoryevich Shevchenko, ”she said.
