Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov believes that the West still "cherishes the hope" of defeating Russia on the battlefield. The diplomat said this during the Primakov Readings international forum, TASS reports.

“They still cherish the hope of defeating Russia on the battlefield,” said the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

Lavrov also said that American-style globalization has already been completed and the construction of a new system has begun, which should not be dependent on the West.

During the forum, the minister stressed that Russia would start a dialogue with the West when far-sighted people come to power there. At the same time, Lavrov pointed out that the Western states themselves actually stopped cooperating with the Russian Federation and "built a wall."
