Peskov said that the Russian Federation is ready to assist in holding a meeting between Aliyev and Pashinyan

Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov said that the Russian side would be ready to provide all necessary assistance for holding a meeting between Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on its territory. He announced this during a briefing with reporters.

"Russia will certainly be ready to provide all necessary assistance to host such a meeting on its territory," the Kremlin spokesman said.

He also added that if there is any understanding from this meeting, then this will be reported.

The day before, Eduard Aghajanyan, head of the Armenian Standing Parliamentary Commission on External Relations, stated that proposals on a draft peace agreement had been received from Baku. He added that the meeting between Aliyev and Pashinyan, quite possibly, will take place before the end of the year.

Earlier, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry reported that negotiations on a peace treaty with Armenia could take place before the end of the year.

Prior to this, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Moscow was interested in concluding a peace treaty between Baku and Yerevan.
