Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters that the recently adopted US defense budget shows the country's "extremely" confrontational attitude towards Russia.

According to him, "the adopted document is of an extremely confrontational nature" in relation to Russia, which could lead to serious and long-term consequences in connection with the further destabilization of the situation in Europe.

Earlier it became known that the draft US defense budget agreed upon by the relevant committees of both houses of Congress contains the thesis that Washington will seek the exclusion of the Russian Federation from a number of international organizations, including the G20.

Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council Konstantin Kosachev, in turn, commenting on the draft US defense budget, which amounted to a record $858 billion, said that one of the points of the Pentagon's draft budget - to achieve Russia's exclusion from the G20 - is unrealistic.
