Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Europe is not yet able to protect its interests. He announced this during his speech at the international forum "Primakov Readings", RIA Novosti reports.

“The fact that there are interests in Europe that do not coincide with the interests of the United States is obvious. The fact that Europe cannot protect these interests, in my opinion, is also a medical fact," he said.

Lavrov also noted that this is confirmed by the results of the visit of French President Emmanuel Macron to the United States.

Earlier, the Chinese tabloid Global Times reported that the meeting of US and French Presidents Joe Biden and Emmanuel Macron at the White House, which was held in a pompous atmosphere, contrasts with disagreements between the two countries on various issues.

On December 5, Macron said that due to high energy prices, there was a “out of sync” in relations between the United States and Europe.

On November 30, the French leader arrived in the United States on an official visit and met with United States President Joe Biden.
