Citizens of Mongolia can join the working group to investigate the case of the theft of coal. This proposal was made by Prime Minister of Mongolia Luvsannamsrayn Oyuun-Erdene, whose words are quoted by RIA Novosti.

Oyuun-Erdene addressed the protesters on the square in front of the Government Palace in Ulaanbaatar.

“Dear citizens, we are interested in resolving the coal issue as soon as possible. We offer citizens to join the working group and participate in the investigation,” the prime minister said.

Earlier, Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh demanded that the prosecutor's office and the government comply with the main demand of the protesters and resolve the issue of investigating the case of large-scale theft of coal.

Mass demonstrations are taking place in the capital of Mongolia, Ulaanbaatar, due to a scandal over the theft of export coal. The protesters demand that the government and the president name "the thieves who stole 44 trillion tugriks ($12.9 billion) of coal."
