The Russian Embassy in Germany has denied contacts with those suspected of organizing a coup d'état, who were detained on Wednesday, December 7, RIA Novosti reports.

“The Russian Embassy in Germany draws attention to the fact that Russian diplomatic and consular offices in Germany do not maintain contacts with representatives of terrorist groups and other illegal formations,” the message says.

German police conducted a special operation against alleged right-wing extremists. German police officers detained 25 people who were either members of an unnamed right-wing terrorist organization or supported it. It was reported that German special forces operated simultaneously in 11 states of Germany. Searches were carried out in more than 130 homes, offices and other premises.

Later, the German prosecutor's office reported that the people detained during the special operation, who wanted to carry out a coup d'état in the country, intended to create an interim military government.

Earlier, the German Prosecutor General's Office said that the conspirators detained in the country are suspected of participating in or supporting a terrorist group.
