Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that American-style globalization is already over and the construction of a new system has begun, which should not be dependent on the West. It is reported by RIA Novosti.

According to the head of the diplomatic department, Russia does not plan to live in illusions that it will conscientiously participate in the processes of globalization.

“American globalization is over. Some residual processes will inevitably have to be experienced, but a new system is being built in parallel - both financial and logistical...”, the Russian Foreign Minister noted.

As Lavrov added, the new system should not be associated with the "quirks and feelings of superiority of the former Western partners."

On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that he had decided to conduct a military special operation in Ukraine in response to a request for help from the heads of the LPR and DPR.

The decision to conduct the operation was the reason for new sanctions against Russia by the United States and its allies.
