Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said during the Primakov Readings international forum that Russia would start a dialogue with the West when far-sighted people come to power there. His words are quoted by TASS.

Lavrov noted that Western countries had actually stopped cooperating with Russia and "built a wall."

“When and if some people in the West come to lead the countries and structures created in Europe and the United States, people who are able to see a little further than two-year electoral cycles will, of course, be ready for a serious conversation,” explained the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

Earlier, Lavrov said that NATO expansion remains the main driving motive in relation to the Russian Federation and other countries.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, in turn, said that the end of the conflict in Ukraine would not mean an automatic improvement in relations with Russia.
