The Russian Embassy in Germany will request the German Prosecutor General's Office in connection with the detention of a Russian woman who is suspected of participating in a plot to stage a coup, RIA Novosti reports citing a representative of the diplomatic mission.

“We are sending a request to the Prosecutor General of Germany to establish the circumstances of the incident,” the embassy said.

In addition, the Russian embassy noted that at the moment there have been no notifications from the German side about the detention of a Russian citizen.

Earlier, the German prosecutor's office reported that the people detained during the special operation, who wanted to carry out a coup d'état in the country, intended to create an interim military government.

In Germany, 25 people were detained on suspicion of organizing a coup d'état, including one Russian woman. According to the Prosecutor General's Office, investigative measures are being taken against another 52 people.
