Ukraine expects 200 million euros from Germany as a grant. This was stated by the Minister of Finance of the Republic Sergei Marchenko, reports TASS.

“During the meeting (with the German Ambassador to Ukraine Anka Feldhusen — approx. “Lenta.ru”), a number of agreements were signed, according to which the government of Ukraine will receive a grant in the amount of 200 million euros,” the head of the department said.

According to Marchenko, the funds will be used to cover the costs of paying allowances for the residence of internally displaced persons. It is specified that the finances will go to the Ukrainian state budget in the near future.

On December 6, the countries of the European Union failed to agree on a new package of macro-financial loan assistance for Ukraine for 2023. Czech Finance Minister Zbynek Staniura noted that the EU's goal of transferring funds to Kyiv from the beginning of January remains the same. According to the publication Politico, Hungary has blocked the possibility of reaching an agreement between states on this issue.
