The destructive policy of the USA in the European Union will destabilize the continent. This is reported by John Ross, a researcher at the Chongyang Institute for Financial Studies in China, in an article for the Global Times.

“The current disorder in Europe is obviously the worst since the Second World War. Inflation has reached its highest level in more than 30 years, and the continent is in its biggest conflict since 1945.

The author of the publication noted that the United States promised Ukraine accession to NATO, while realizing the threat this decision poses to Russia's security. According to Ross, Washington wanted to weaken not only Moscow but also Berlin by forcing it to buy expensive American gas instead of cheap Russian gas.

However, as the expert emphasizes, Russia did not allow the West to encroach on its national interests.

Ross warned that European politicians must demonstrate their independence from the United States, otherwise this conflict "will not be the last."

Earlier, Foreign Policy columnist Edward Alden reported that there were serious disagreements between Washington and European allies over economic policy, which eventually turned into a scandal. The key episode of the split that has occurred in recent days, he called the refusal of European Commissioner Thierry Breton to participate in meetings of the EU-US Council on Trade and Technology.

Prior to this, the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, warned of the threat of a new trade war between the EU and the United States due to the American law to reduce inflation.
