Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh demanded that the prosecutor's office and the government comply with the main demand of the protesters and resolve the issue of investigating the case of large-scale theft of coal, the country's main export product. He made the corresponding statement at a meeting in Ulaanbaatar with members of the Cabinet of Ministers, the presidential administration, the leadership of the Prosecutor General's Office and law enforcement agencies, the Eagle information portal reports.

As the president noted, the protests have been going on for four days, but the government and law enforcement agencies have not yet taken concrete steps to meet the demands of the protesters.

Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh also asked the audience why the prosecutor's office did not make the names of high-ranking corrupt officials public. The head of state also recalled that, at the request of the investigation, MPs involved in crimes may be deprived of immunity.

He urged the meeting participants to resolve the issue of protests as soon as possible.

Earlier it was reported that the Mongolian Parliament intends to reveal the names of those responsible for the theft of coal.
