Russian President Vladimir Putin awarded Maria Pirogova, deputy of the People's Council of the DPR, the Order of Courage posthumously. The corresponding decree is published on the official portal of legal information.

The document says that Deputy Pirogova was awarded posthumously for "selflessness and courage shown in the line of duty."

The decree also notes that Pirogova was engaged in volunteer activities.

A deputy of the People's Council of the DPR died during the shelling of Donetsk by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on December 6.

Later, VGTRK war correspondent Andrei Rudenko said that the order to shell Donetsk could have been given by Colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Evgeny Kurash, whom the correspondent called the commander of the 110th separate mechanized brigade. =
