Doctors assess the condition of ex-president of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili as serious. According to the consultation of the expert group, Saakashvili is suffering from fourth-stage exhaustion, which is dangerous for his life. This was reported by TASS with reference to the statement of the doctor Tengiz Tsuladze.

“The patient's condition has deteriorated significantly. This is expressed in weight loss, deterioration of cognitive functions, polyneuropathy, as well as a decrease in muscle mass, weakness. It is difficult for the patient to get up, it is difficult to make contact, he has a fever,” said the physician.

Doctors demand that "timely and radical measures be taken to prevent the expected irreversible deterioration." The council found that Saakashvili has lost 42 kg since his arrest and now weighs 73.6 kg. The ex-president of Georgia has already moved from anorexia to cachexia, doctors are sure.

“Ongoing treatment is ineffective. The patient cannot be managed in a proactive mode, and treatment approaches are limited to responding to various complications, ”the expert group concluded, published on the Facebook page (the owner of Meta is recognized as extremist in Russia and banned).

According to Tsuladze, if Saakashvili's health continues to deteriorate at the same rate, the ex-president may live only a few months.

Earlier it was reported that Saakashvili, who is currently undergoing treatment at the Vivamed private clinic in Tbilisi, eats only on certain days.

The Empathy NGO previously published a medical report, according to which Saakashvili, who is serving a six-year term in prison, had ten diagnoses incompatible with imprisonment. In his body, they found an increased content of barium, bismuth, mercury, which are dangerous to health.

Saakashvili returned to Georgia on October 1, 2021 and was arrested. He was accused of illegally crossing the border, embezzlement of budgetary funds and the destruction of the Imedi television company. However, he was convicted in absentia in two criminal cases.
