NATO countries are divided in their opinions regarding the possible entry of Ukraine into the ranks of the Alliance, some members of the organization are trying in every possible way to avoid this topic in order to prevent conflict with Russia. Politico writes about it.

And most importantly, NATO membership legally requires that allies come to the aid of Ukraine in the event of an attack - a prospect that many will not consider.

The publication says that the issue of the alleged membership of Ukraine is so “explosive” that many countries of the Alliance do not want to touch it.

At the same time, the journalist writes, despite the fact that Europe and the United States are massively equipping Ukraine with military technicians and imposing “inconceivable sanctions” on Russia, refusing its energy resources, the prospect of Ukraine joining the North Atlantic Alliance remains a painful topic for international politics.

Earlier, Politico wrote that a split is planned in NATO over how to deal with China.
