The draft US defense budget stipulates that sanctions will be imposed for participation in gold and foreign exchange transactions with the Russian Federation. This is stated in the explanatory note to the document, RIA Novosti reports.

“Includes the Stop Russian Gold Act, which imposes sanctions on individuals who knowingly engage in significant gold transactions with Russia,” the document says.

Earlier it became known that the US Congress agreed on the military budget of the Pentagon in fiscal year 2023 for $858 billion. In particular, $317.3 billion will be spent on the use and maintenance of military equipment and property of the US Department of Defense, another $174.5 billion on military personnel.

Last year, the US Congress approved a $778 billion Pentagon budget.
