The Russian authorities are considering three scenarios to respond to the imposition of price caps on oil from Russia by the G7 countries and the European Union:

a ban on the sale of oil to countries that have introduced a price ceiling (even through intermediaries); a ban on the sale of raw materials under contracts that include a price ceiling as a condition; introduction of a maximum discount for the sale of Urals to Brent (sales are prohibited if the discount increases).
