Topographical groups of government delegations from Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan carried out a design description of the passage of the line on one of the sections of the common border, TASS reports with reference to the press service of the Tajik Foreign Ministry.

The description was made by the parties at the meeting in Batken.

“During the meeting, the parties completed the design description of the passage of the line of the Tajik-Kyrgyz state border, with a total length of 17.66 km,” the report says.

In addition, in order to continue the work, the parties agreed on a schedule of meetings for 2023.

The next meeting of topographic groups will be held in Tajikistan, the press service specified.

On November 26, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov said that Bishkek is trying to resolve border problems with Tajikistan as soon as possible.

The length of the border between Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan is more than 980 km. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, dozens of disputed areas remained on it. In the process of delimitation and demarcation, more than 663 km of the border were agreed upon.

Earlier on the border of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan there was an incident with the use of weapons.
