The draft US defense budget agreed upon by the relevant committees of both houses of Congress contains the thesis that Washington will seek the exclusion of the Russian Federation from a number of international organizations, including the G20. It is reported by RIA Novosti.

"The draft provides... for the exclusion of Russian government officials from the G20, the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision, the Financial Stability Board, the International Association of Insurance Supervisors... and also requires the adoption of steps necessary to advance this policy," the draft defense budget says USA.

Earlier it became known that the defense budget for fiscal year 2023 agreed by both houses of the US Congress includes the allocation of an additional $800 million in aid to Ukraine.

On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that he had decided to conduct a military special operation to protect Donbass in response to a request for help from the heads of the LPR and DPR.

The decision to conduct the operation was the reason for new sanctions against Russia by the United States and its allies.
