Britain and the United States have entered into a new energy security partnership that is focused on reducing "global dependence" on Russian energy, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and US President Joe Biden said in a statement. It is reported by RIA Novosti.

The publication notes that as part of a new partnership between London and Washington, the two countries plan to work to reduce global dependence on Russian energy exports, stabilize energy markets and enhance cooperation in the field of energy efficiency, nuclear energy and renewable energy sources.

The parties will also continue close cooperation in the field of carbon capture and storage.

Earlier it became known that Moscow is considering setting a fixed price for its oil as a response to the price ceiling imposed by the G7 countries on Russian raw materials.

Last week, the European Commission announced that the G7 countries (Great Britain, Germany, Italy, Canada, France, Japan and the United States) and Australia agreed to impose a $60 per barrel price ceiling on Russian oil delivered by sea from December 5.
