Trump Companies Found Guilty of Tax Fraud

A Manhattan jury in New York found two Trump Organization companies guilty on multiple charges of tax fraud and falsification of business documents related to a 15-year tax fraud scheme.

Trump Corp. and Trump Payroll Corp. were found guilty on all counts of the charges against them.

Donald Trump and members of his family were not charged in the case, but the former president was repeatedly cited during the trial by prosecutors in connection with bonuses some executives received, including company-funded apartments, car rentals and personal expenses.

Trump's companies could be fined up to $1.61 million if the verdict is handed down in mid-January.
Companies are not in danger of liquidation because there is no mechanism under New York State law that would allow a company to be liquidated.
