The European Union should stop interfering in the affairs of other countries and deal with the problems of its own citizens. Irish MEP Mick Wallace wrote about this on Twitter, commenting on a statement by EU diplomat Josep Borrell.

In mid-October, at the opening of the European Diplomatic Academy in Bruges, Belgium, Borrell called "privileged" Europe a "garden" surrounded by "jungles" that could invade the well-oiled European mechanism.

“How about the gardener stop interfering in the affairs of other countries, stay at home in Europe and try to deal with the many problems of our own citizens,” Wallace replied to his words, urging the EU to stop spreading colonialism, since “Europe has already inflicted enough harm."

The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, believes that the ideas that the head of European diplomacy Josep Borrell is spreading within the EU provoke the consolidation of a new split in Europe.
